We are recruiting to fill the following positions below:

Job Title: Quality Control Inspector

Location: Nigeria
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary 

  • Quality Control Inspector in the steel industry isresponsible for meticulously examining and testing steel products throughout the production process, ensuring they meet established quality standards, specifications, and industry regulations by visually inspecting, measuring dimensions, conducting non-destructive testing (NDT), and documenting any deviations to maintain product consistency and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Visual Inspection: Conduct thorough visual inspections of steel billets, slabs, sheets, bars, and other products to identify surface defects like cracks, scratches, inclusions, or irregularities.
  • Dimensional Measurement: Utilize measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify that steel products adhere to specified dimensions regarding thickness, width, length, and tolerances.
  • Non-Destructive Testing (NDT): Perform NDT methods like ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle inspection, or eddy current testing to detect internal flaws within the steel.
  • Sampling and Testing: Collect representative samples of steel products for laboratory analysis to verify chemical composition and mechanical properties (tensile strength, yield strength, hardness).
  • Data Recording and Reporting: Document inspection findings, test results, and any non-conforming items on detailed reports, identifying the root cause of issues and recommending corrective actions.
  • Process Monitoring: Monitor the steel production process, identifying potential quality issues early on and communicating necessary adjustments to production operators.
  • Quality Control Audits: Conduct regular quality control audits to ensure compliance with established standards and procedures.
  • Calibration and Maintenance: Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Collaboration with Production Teams: Work closely with production personnel to address quality concerns, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of steel manufacturing processes, metallurgy, and quality standards relevant to the steel industry.
  • Inspection Techniques: Proficiency in using various inspection tools and methods including visual inspection, dimensional measurement, and NDT techniques.
  • Data Analysis: Ability to interpret test results, analyze data, and identify trends to inform quality improvement initiatives.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and meticulousness to detect even minor defects.

Job Title: Electrical Technician

Location: Nigeria

Job Summary

  • The Electrical Technician will be responsible for the smooth operation of electrical systems in the hot rolling mill.
  • This includes troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electrical components, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and minimizing downtime.

Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repair:

  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment, including motors (DC, AC and Slip ring), instruments, cranes, drives, transformers, circuit breakers, and control systems.
  • Inspect and test electrical systems and equipment to identify faults and defects, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
  • Troubleshoot and repair issues with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), motor control centers (MCCs), variable frequency drives (VFDs), and other control equipment.

Installation:

  • Assist with the installation of new electrical systems or machinery as needed for upgrades or new projects.
  • Ensure proper wiring, cabling, and installation of electrical equipment, in compliance with industry standards.

Monitoring & Operation:

  • Monitor electrical systems during operation and make adjustments as necessary to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Collaborate with other departments to optimize equipment efficiency and reduce downtime.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure compliance with local electrical codes and regulations.
  • Conduct safety checks on electrical equipment to ensure it meets required standards and identify potential hazards.

Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and electrical systems performance.
  • Prepare reports on equipment status, maintenance performed, and any issues or concerns.

Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting:

  • Diagnose electrical issues and determine root causes quickly to prevent production delays.
  • Work closely with the maintenance team to prioritize and address critical issues that affect production.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Suggest improvements for better performance and energy efficiency of electrical systems.
  • Participate in training and development programs to keep updated with the latest electrical updated with the latest electrical technologies and systems.

Requirements

  • Candidates should possess an HND / NCE / OND or BSc qualification with 3 – 7 years work experience.

Additional Skills:

  • Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work on shift schedules and respond to emergency breakdowns.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Working Conditions

Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management:

  • Monitoring steel product inventory levels to maintain adequate stock and prevent shortages.
  • Managing the receiving and inspection process for incoming steel deliveries, verifying quality and quantity against purchase orders.
  • Optimizing warehouse space utilization by organizing steel products based on size, type, and customer orders.

Order Fulfillment:

  • Processing customer orders accurately and efficiently, coordinating with the sales team to ensure timely delivery.
  • Scheduling and coordinating outbound shipments, including loading and securing steel products on trucks.

Logistics Operations:

  • Roll Pass Cutting for Mill Rolls and other Machining as per drawing
  • Understanding of Technical Parameters of the Machining Job and Machine Capacity
  • CNC Programming and Data Entering of different types of Pass Profiles
  • To prepare RIB Cutting and Branding in the Finishing Mill Rolls.
  • To Operate general purpose machines in Roll Shop
  • To carry out Periodical checking of Machineries and Equipment’s of Roll Shop.
  • To carry out routine maintenance jobs of the Roll Shop Machineries.

Requirements

  • Candidates should possess an SSCE / OND / HND qualification with 2 – 5 years relevant work experience.

Core Functional Experience:

  • Good Knowledge of Rolling in Bar Mill(Reinforcement Bar, Merchant Products)
  • Good Knowledge of Operations of ReheatingFurnaces.
  • Knowledge of Roll Pass Design
  • Knowledge of Standards for Rolled Products
  • To provide technical support to the superiors in investigation and resolution of problem areas.
  • To prepare and submit the daily reports to the concerned shift in charges
  • To ensure compliance with HSE, PPE Standards and Procedures and aim at Zero Accidents.
  • To implement work procedures and records confirming to ISO for Rolling Mills.
  • To perform additional tasks as desired by Superiors from time to time.
