The Federal University of Technology, Ikot Abasi (FUTIA) was established by the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) under the administration of His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari, in June 2021. FUTIA is located in the South-South region of Nigeria, specifically in Ikot Abasi, Akwa Ibom State.

A. QUALIFICATIONS

a. Professor (CONUASS 7)

• Ph.D. from a recognized university or an appropriate professional qualification (medical) with at least twelve (12) years of university-level teaching experience or relevant exposure.
• Twenty (20) publications, sixteen (16) in print, with at least four (4) in three (3) different regularly published foreign-indexed journals.
• For Engineering and Applied Sciences: twenty-four (24) publications, twenty (20) in print, and six (6) in three (3) different reputable foreign-indexed journals.
• Four (4) other publications may be technical reports or patents.

b. Associate Professor (CONUASS 6)

• Ph.D. from a recognized university with at least nine (9) years of university teaching experience or relevant exposure with proven scholarly achievements.
• Fifteen (15) publications, eleven (11) in print, four (4) of which must be in two (2) different reputable foreign-indexed journals.
• For Engineering and Applied Sciences: eighteen (18) publications, fourteen (14) in print, and four (4) in two (2) reputable foreign-indexed journals.
• Four (4) others may be technical reports or patents.

c. Senior Lecturer (CONUASS 5)

• Ph.D. from a recognized university plus ten (10) publications, all referred journal articles in print.
• For Engineering: eight (8) publications, six (6) in print plus COREN registration.
• Two (2) articles may be refereed proceedings or teaching reports.

d. Lecturer I (CONUASS 4)

• Ph.D. from a recognized university plus four (4) journal publications, two (2) of which must be published, or Ph.D. plus professional registration and three (3) journal articles.
• Master’s Degree with five (5) journal articles, four (4) published.

e. Lecturer II (CONUASS 3)

• Ph.D. from a recognized university or Master’s degree plus two (2) journal publications.
• Relevant professional registration is an advantage.

f. Assistant Lecturer (CONUASS 2)

• A good second class honours degree (not less than second class lower) plus a Master’s degree or a Bachelor’s degree (first or second class upper) plus professional registration.

g. Graduate Assistant (CONUASS 1)

• A good honours degree (first or second class upper) from a recognized university.

h. Academic Librarian

• Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science or its equivalent from a recognized university.
• Must be a registered Librarian with relevant professional registration.

i. Technologist

• B.Sc./HND from a recognized institution in a relevant field.
• Professional registration is an added advantage.

NON-ACADEMIC POSITIONS

a. Guidance and Counselling Officer

• Good honours degree in a relevant field from a recognized university.

b. Assistant Librarian

• Good honours degree/HND in Library Science from a recognized institution.

c. Senior Assistant Registrar

• Good honours degree from a recognized university with at least nine (9) years of post-qualification experience and membership of a recognized professional body.
• Postgraduate degree in a relevant field is an added advantage.

d. Assistant Registrar

• Good honours degree from a recognized university with at least six (6) years of post-qualification experience plus membership of a recognized professional body.
• Master’s degree with at least six (6) years of experience.

e. Administrative Officer I

• Good honours degree from a recognized university with at least three (3) years of post-qualification experience or Master’s degree with three (3) years of experience.

f. Administrative Officer II

• Good honours degree in a relevant field from a recognized university.

g. Accountant I

• B.Sc. degree or HND in Accountancy plus membership of a recognized Professional Accountancy body (ACA, ICAN, ANAN, ACMA).

h. Accountant II

• B.Sc. degree in Accountancy or a relevant discipline.

i. Academic Planning Officer

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline.

j. Procurement Officer

• University degree or HND in any relevant field from a recognized institution.

k. Store Officer

• University degree or HND in any relevant field from a recognized institution.

l. Quantity Surveyor

• Good degree in Quantity Surveying from a recognized university.

m. Senior Driver

• Trade Test 1, 2, and 3 with at least eight (8) years of driving experience.

n. Pharmacist

• B.Pharm, B.Sc. (Pharm) with full registration with the Pharmacist Council of Nigeria.

o. Nursing Officer

• N.R.N. or N.R.M. with one (1) year post-registration experience.

p. Medical Laboratory Technologist

• First degree in Medical Lab Science from a recognized institution.

q. Assistant Medical Laboratory Technologist

• ND or certification in a relevant discipline.

r. Executive Officer

• HND or ND in the relevant field from a recognized institution.

s. Clerical Officer

• Full Secondary School Education with five (5) credits, including English Language.

t. Building Officer

• University degree in Urban and Regional Planning or Environmental Management.

u. Town Planner

• Good honours degree in Civil Engineering, Building, or other relevant qualification registerable with the Council for the Registration of Builders in Nigeria (CORBON).

v. Hostel Staff

• University degree/HND/ND/NCE/SSCE in any relevant field from a recognized institution.

w. Chief Security Officer

• Served as a Superintendent of Police or equivalent rank in the Armed Forces with eighteen (18) years of experience and good educational qualifications.

B. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

• All candidates must possess an NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate where applicable.
• Candidates awaiting results are not eligible to apply.
• Computer literacy is required for all positions.

C. CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

Salaries, allowances, and other conditions of service are in line with the approved structure for Federal Universities in Nigeria.
