To support international students, KAIST offers the “KAIST Full Scholarship.” This scholarship is available to all international applicants, including those currently enrolled at another university. Furthermore, international students are NOT required to submit a TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean) certificate at the time of application. KAIST Scholarship Requirements

  • The applicant must be an international student.
  • Scholarships are offered to admitted students, so applicants must apply for admission to be automatically considered for the KAIST Scholarship. No separate application is needed.
  • Students must maintain a GPA of over 2.7 out of 4.3 after their freshman year at KAIST.

English Proficiency Test Requirements

Submission of English Proficiency Test (EPT) results such as TOEFL, IELTS, etc., or standardized test scores like SAT, AP, etc., is recommended but not mandatory.

Applicants who do not have test results can still apply without any disadvantage.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must hold foreign citizenship.
  • Neither of the applicant’s parents should be Korean citizens.
  • Applicants of Korean origin must have completed their entire elementary, junior high, and high school education outside Korea.
  • Applicants holding Korean citizenship (including dual citizenship) are NOT eligible to apply as international students.
  • The application fee must be paid.

  • Statement of Financial Resources

Application Process

  1. Carefully read the admission guidelines.

  4. Pay the application fee (80 USD or 80,000 KRW) via credit card or bank transfer.
  5. There is no separate scholarship application; upon admission, you will automatically be considered for the KAIST Scholarship.
